What We See Go Wrong

Teams over-customize. They install dozens of apps, hack the theme until it's unrecognizable, build workarounds for things Shopify wasn't designed to do. Then they blame the platform when things break.

We also see teams under-utilize. Shopify does more than people realize—markets, B2B, subscriptions, automations. Teams build custom solutions for problems Shopify already solves, adding maintenance burden for no benefit.

Another pattern: choosing headless too early. Hydrogen and the Storefront API are powerful, but they're not free. If a well-built theme meets your needs, the added complexity of headless isn't worth it yet.
