The platform that handles commerce so you can focus on the business. Sometimes the right answer is the obvious one. We also build with Medusa when clients outgrow Shopify. That means we know exactly where Shopify shines—and we recommend it when it’s genuinely the right fit, not just when it’s easy.
What We Build
Storefronts that convert. Custom themes that match your brand without fighting the platform. Headless commerce with Shopify as the backend and React or Next.js as the frontend. App integrations, custom apps, and workflow automation.
We’ve built stores for brands launching their first product and for established businesses processing thousands of orders daily. We’ve customized checkout flows, built subscription experiences on Shopify, and integrated with ERPs, fulfillment systems, and marketing platforms.
What we build less of: stores so custom they’d be easier on a different platform. If you’re fighting Shopify more than using it, we’ll tell you—and help you evaluate alternatives.
Why Us
We Know Shopify’s Boundaries
We build with Medusa and custom commerce platforms too. That context matters. We recommend Shopify when it fits because we’ve seen what happens when teams choose complexity they don’t need. We also know when you’ve genuinely outgrown it.
Seniority as Default
Our engineers average 8+ years in software. They’ve built commerce experiences across platforms and know what good looks like regardless of tooling.
Frontend Strength
Shopify themes are fine. Shopify with a custom React or Next.js storefront via Hydrogen or the Storefront API is better—when you need that level of control. We build both, and we’ll tell you which makes sense.
Range
We’ve shipped for early-stage startups (Framer, Rye), global manufacturers (Ingersoll Rand), and international institutions (Council of Europe Development Bank). A founder’s first store and an enterprise Shopify Plus deployment require different approaches.
How We Work
Two modes. Sometimes you need specialists who plug into your existing team. We adapt. Sometimes you need us to own it—set the standard, make the calls, surface problems early.
What stays constant: direct communication, decisions documented, honest feedback.
Technical Approach
Theme Development When it Fits
Liquid isn’t elegant, but it works. We build themes that are fast, maintainable, and customizable by your team. Dawn as a starting point when sensible, custom architecture when needed.
Headless When it’s Justified
Hydrogen for Shopify-native headless. Custom Next.js storefronts via the Storefront API when you need maximum flexibility. We build both—and we’ll tell you honestly which you need.
Shopify Plus for Scale
Checkout extensibility, B2B features, expansion stores, advanced automation with Flow. We’ve built for Plus merchants who need what Plus provides.
Apps and Integrations
Custom apps when Shopify’s ecosystem doesn’t have what you need. Integrations with fulfillment, inventory, ERP, and marketing systems. We build connections that handle edge cases and don’t break.
Performance Matters
Shopify handles infrastructure, but theme performance is on you. We optimize for Core Web Vitals because speed affects conversion—not just SEO.
What We See Go Wrong
Teams over-customize. They install dozens of apps, hack the theme until it’s unrecognizable, build workarounds for things Shopify wasn’t designed to do. Then they blame the platform when things break.
We also see teams under-utilize. Shopify does more than people realize—markets, B2B, subscriptions, automations. Teams build custom solutions for problems Shopify already solves, adding maintenance burden for no benefit.
Another pattern: choosing headless too early. Hydrogen and the Storefront API are powerful, but they’re not free. If a well-built theme meets your needs, the added complexity of headless isn’t worth it yet.
Who We Work Well With
Clients who want commerce that works without unnecessary complexity. Who see Shopify’s constraints as focus, not limitation. Also: clients unsure whether Shopify fits. We’ll help you evaluate honestly. Sometimes the answer is Shopify. Sometimes it’s Medusa or something else. We’d rather you choose right than choose us.
Who We’re Not For
If you need commerce so custom that you’ll fight Shopify constantly—we’ll tell you upfront. Medusa or a custom build might serve you better. We’d rather recommend the right platform than bill hours on the wrong one.
If you want the cheapest Shopify theme install, we’re not competitive there. We build stores meant to perform and last.
