Maze Development
Testing prototypes before writing code saves money. Testing live products reveals what analytics can't. Maze makes both fast enough to actually happen — not as a quarterly ritual, but as part of how products get built.
We're a development agency, not a research consultancy. Maze is in our stack because building the right thing matters as much as building it well. When we test, it's to reduce risk on products we're delivering, not to produce reports that sit in a folder.
What We Test
Prototypes before development. Figma designs in front of real users before a line of code is written. Navigation problems, confusing labels, flows that make sense to designers but not to users — found while changes are still cheap.
Live products. Existing applications tested for friction, confusion, drop-off points. Heatmaps, click paths, task completion rates. Data that shows what users actually do, not what they say they do.
Features before they ship. Quick validation that assumptions hold. Continuous learning that compounds across releases, not research bolted on once a year.
How We Approach Research
When Maze Fits
Maze excels at evaluative research — testing specific designs and flows, validating ideas quickly, identifying usability problems. We use it for that.
If you need deep generative research — ethnographic studies, foundational user understanding, market exploration — a dedicated UX research agency will go deeper than we do.
If you need research to confirm decisions already made, we're not a good fit.
We report what users do, not what stakeholders hope they do.
